Pennsylvania Department of Ed makes 94 Maidens recommended reading!

Remember our really BIG NEWS?  Here it is!

We are proud to announce that “94 Maidens” by Rhonda Fink Whitman has been added as a resource on the PDESAS.org website! “94 Maidens” is a novel about the author’s family and the persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany. This resource could be used in the English Language Arts classroom as well as the Social Studies classroom for students to know the stories of individuals in this very difficult time in history. By studying the stories of individuals, students will develop the capacity to make choices to protect those whose rights may be in jeopardy. This resource has a (brand new, just published, user-friendly) teacher guide which is available for free at the authors website. Click on the link to access this resource. http://www.pdesas.org/…/…/Content/30272/Web-based%20Resource

We are extremely grateful to the PA DOE for including our book and its free downloadable teacher’s guide as recommended resources for all 500 school districts in the Commonwealth!  By reading 94 Maidens, we hope that students may learn the consequences of unchecked hatred and bigotry so that they may safeguard the future from genocide for all human beings.

Educate yourself, teach others.  Happy weekend, everyone!  With love, Rhonda

Bensalem School District uses 94 Maidens in HS curriculum!

We just recently learned from the Bensalem School Superintendent that his School District (PA) this year started using 94 Maidens in their 11th & 12th grade high school curriculum!

Thank you, Bensalem!!  It is our sincere hope that your students learn much about the Holocaust and genocide from reading the book and that it enlightens them enough to help them safeguard our future.

With much gratitude ~ Rhonda and the 94 Maidens team
