94 Maidens author Rhonda Fink-Whitman had a wonderful book discussion with the very bright and articulate high school girls of Temple Beth Zion Beth Israel in Center City Philadelphia!
Thanks to Morah Smadar, Diana, Molly, and Tav for reading the book and to Education Director Cindy for the very kind invite!
And oh what a beautiful synagogue! They just don’t make em’ like that anymore!
The girls enjoyed the book and had lots of great questions. Rhonda’s favorite: “If you could meet any of the characters from the book that you never got a chance to meet, who would it be?” Who do you think?
5.0 out of 5 stars Rhonda Fink-Whitman is brave and relentless…My kind of woman, By judy levinsky
“A friend of mine posted Ms. Fink-Whitman’s Philadelphia video interview with college student about the Holocaust, and I was hooked. Her account of the Holocaust, in 94 Maidens, was the most personal I have ever read. I read the book in 2 days, I just could not put it down. I felt a special closeness to the characters in the book from page 1. It was passionately written and not till the end did all the dots get connected. I was touched, mortified, happy and deeply sad all at once. It is amazing what one person can do when motivated by true desire to know the truth. Whether you are Jewish or not; you have read numerous books on the Holocaust (which I have), or if you think you know everything you need to know about this horrific tragedy … READ IT ANYWAY! I promise it will be valuable use of your time.”
Such a heartfelt endorsement of my book and everything it stands for. Can’t thank you enough, Judy, for your especially complimentary review! You are my kind of woman as well! ~ Rhonda
Our dear friend, Hungarian Holocaust survivor Paul Gidaly remembers the last time he saw his father 70 years ago this month.
Read and remember the tragic events in The Jewish Press.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thoughts on a great story By Margi Perchetti
“This was an interesting, thought-provoking read. It was based on true events that are mind chilling and ones that this book makes you think you are experiencing. I was a child during World War II and have very personal, deep memories of this horrendous era. I actually saw pictures of the Holocaust victims that were taken by a relative who was a member of the Allied Forces that were the first to arrive at the concentration camps during the liberation. These pictures will always be seared and embedded in my memory. I have recommended this book to many of my other serious book enthusiasts.”
Thank you, Margi, for your wonderful 5-star review, sharing your personal connection, and for recommending my book to others! Means so much to me!
NEVER giving up the good fight to mandate #Holocaust and Genocide education in PA, no matter who tries to undermine our efforts.
